A Good Man Is Hard To Find

 

Why do we think that the grandmother will die?

This is because of how she tries to force a relationship with the misfit. This is shown in the quotes;

“I now your a good man. You dont look a bit like you have common blood.”

“You’ve got good blood, I know you wont shoot a lady, you come from nice people.”

“You’re one of my babies, youre one of my children.”

The Misfit dismisses what the grandma says;

“None, I aint a good man.”

The Misfit sprang back as if a snake had bitten him and shot her three times through the chest.

I think the grandmother will die because throught the ending lf the story she keeps trying to convince him that hes a good man so he doesnt kill her. For e.g. “You shouldnt call yourslef the misfit because i now your a good man at heart.” This quote is showing us how shes trying to tell the misfit that hes not bad and he should stop doing bad things. This is so he realises his mistakes and stops the killing, but throughout all of her attempts he dismisses her and just acts like he never heard her or what she says is irrelevant.
